What makes ViaRise different from a regular alarm?

Choose when you want to arrive, not just when to wake up. ViaRise combines your routine, arrival buffer and an Apple Maps journey estimate to help plan backwards. School runs, games, cinema visits and day trips fit alongside work. Saving a journey does not set an alarm: you review and explicitly confirm it in the app.

Does it work for evening or rotating shifts?

Yes. Arrival times are not limited to early starts. Weekday schedules, rotating shift profiles and date overrides help you plan for different shifts. You can optionally read selected calendars and explicitly confirm an event as a local plan.

Will traffic automatically change my alarm?

Automatic earlier adjustments for the dashboard plan require your saved opt-in, which is off by default. Journey plans, calendar and profile occurrences require explicit confirmation; saving a journey or opening a shortcut does not set an alarm. iOS can delay or skip background checks, so ViaRise cannot promise continuous traffic monitoring or guaranteed rescheduling while closed.

What iPhone software do I need?

Real system alarms and alarm snooze require iOS 26 or later and your permission. Older supported iOS versions can use commute planning, but cannot set these system alarms. Check the App Store listing for final device compatibility when it is available.

What’s included in Free?

All features for one active destination plus Home, whether it’s school, a cinema, a stadium or work: journey planning, traffic-aware and independent alarms, snooze, schedules, calendar imports, route comparison, Insights, widgets, Siri shortcuts, themes, sounds and journey sharing. Plus only adds multiple destinations and their per-destination assignments.

Can I get to my plan with widgets or Siri?

Yes. Widgets give you a glanceable plan and quick actions into the app. ViaRise shortcuts work with Siri and Apple’s Shortcuts app to open the relevant screen. These features are included in Free. They do not automatically confirm a journey alarm or send a message; you review those steps in ViaRise. Widget updates are controlled by iOS, not a live traffic feed.

Is my location tracked or my arrival guaranteed?

No. ViaRise calculates estimates using your saved places; it does not provide live location tracking or guarantee an arrival time. Journey sharing is a one-off message you review and send yourself. Road conditions and travel times can change.
